I started drumming at the age of 11,
inspired to play by listening to bands like Nirvana, Metallica and Green Day.
It pretty much reached the point where my parents were going to have to
put up with a life time of dented furniture or buy me a drum kit, I would like
to think they made the right choice.

In 2006 I got hands on my first Ddrum Kit and it just felt
right!! Any musician knows that when you get a new instrument it takes a while
to get used to and to adjust things to the way you want. But it just wasn't
like that, it was just perfect for from day I bought it, right out of the
box!
The most exciting project I have ever been a part of I have been in
is my band Population Four since 2007 a five piece metal band from Preston. We
have just released our latest E.P. Called "This Town Will Drag You Down." And
is the third in a line of well received EPs.
Population Four come from a
town called Preston in the Northwest of the United Kingdom. The band formed
from the remains of the bands Home Made Memory and Mirrored Emotion. Daff,
Cooko and Si started writing tunes in late 2007. Ceres joined soon after and
when their original singer met a ruinous end wrestling a Kodak bear in the
Rockies of Canada on a camping trip gone badly wrong, Rick was asked to join
the band to take over vocal duties.
All five members, and yes we are
aware of the inconsistency of the name, had been active participants in the
music scene of Preston and its satellite towns for sometime and so we had come
to know one another through our different exploits over the years.
